Get Fit in a Flash? 20 Second Fitness

A fitness program that’s taking advantage of people’s busy lives? Or a novel and appealing approach to your everyday workout?

In a society where most of us barely have time to brush our teeth in the morning (although I do – I promise!), it’s no wonder a fitness schedule that only takes 4-12 minutes out of your day sounds appealing.

But, a workout program that only takes 4-12 minutes and claims to “burn up to 12x more fat than traditional exercise” also seems a little dubious, does it not?

However, the mechanics behind 20 Second Fitness are fairly simple, and seem quite logical: workout as hard as you can, and you won’t have to workout for as long. (Check out a more elaborate and comprehensive explanation of the theoretical science behind 20 Second Fitness.)

Inspirational Weight Loss Challenge issued by Toronto Mayor.

Having trouble sticking to your New Year’s resolution to lose weight? Already feeling unmotivated? Well, here comes some weight loss inspiration just for you!

Toronto Mayor, Rob Ford, has issued a weight loss challenge not only to himself and his brother, Coun. Doug Ford, but to all North Americans! Less than 2 weeks ago, Mayor Ford launched a 6 month weight loss campaign, Cut the Waist Challenge, in hopes of losing 50 lbs. by June 18th. Both brothers will be publicly weighing in every Monday until the end of the campaign and are encouraging Toronto residents to follow suit! In fact, Mayor Ford has said that he knows that "the city of Toronto will lose more weight than any other city in North America,'' and has challenged other North American Mayors and North America as a whole to compete in the challenge.
