Take Time to Slow Down...

WRITTEN BY  Ana Patrícia- 07 May 2013

Stress is a nasty thing. Take a time out and de-stress!

Read on for 9 reasons we should all take time to do nothing!

Life moves so quickly. Looking at my calendar for the next month already takes my breath away with how full it is! My search for interesting content to share and inspire today's post couldn't have yielded a more relevant article: Huffington Post's Stress Tips: 9 Reasons To Slow Down.

Slowing down is one of the best things we can all do to start alleviating any tension that we let build up. Closing your eyes and clearing your mind for even five minutes will help you to put things into perspective. All too often, we make mountains out of molehills and create our own stress! We require good nutrition and exercise for optimum health, but we also need to take care of our mental health. Remember that stress and anxiety can lead to other problems (such as headaches, jaw clenching and skin breakouts) in spite of a healthy diet and regular exercise routine!

The moral of today's post? Slow down. Take some time to do nothing. That's right, nothing. Give yourself time to just sit, enjoy the view, cuddle with your pet, smell the roses (literally)... Check out the slideshow from Stress Tips: 9 Reasons to Slow Down to get nine reasons from incredibly productive people who, despite busy lives, understand the value of slowing down.

Stay cool everyone!

Vitamin D and Sunshine!

WRITTEN BY  Ana Patrícia- 08 March 2013

Let's talk about the sunshine vitamin!

With the sun making a brief wintry appearance, vitamin D is back on our health radar!

Sun? Wait... sunshine?! Is... is that really you?!

Yes. That is the exact thought that jumped into my head when I woke up on this wintry (well almost spring) morning: shock and awe! It's amazing what a little bit of sunshine can do for one's mood after long weeks and months of dreary blanket clouds and rain! So why is the sun so important? Aside from being the obvious (brightness, heat, happiness, the fuel of life!), sunshine is especially important for our vitamin D levels!

Myth: Our bodies can produce enough vitamin D on their own.

So it's true that our bodies can produce vitamin D, but our bodies need a little help from the UVB rays from sunlight to get the process started. So for those of us who live in the northern climates (or very southern), we have to take extra advantage of those sunny days! And for the days we don't have that celestial light shining down on us, Webber Naturals Vitamin D products might be of some use.

Enjoy the sunshine everyone! ;)
